Tribunal orders tenant to stop making unreasonable noise and orders landlord to ensure that the tenant complies.
A tenant was causing unreasonable noise (in particular loud parties). The Tribunal ordered the tenant to stop making unreasonable noise and ordered the tenant’s landlord to ensure that the tenant complied.
The Tribunal did not have authority to order termination of the tenancy. The Tribunal said:
As noted, the Tribunal has no power to order the end of a tenancy. The Landlord and Tenant Board has that power. Mr. Baic (the landlord) is directed to keep TSCC 2025 advised of the status of any proceeding at the Landlord and Tenant Board.
